Petrojam Lends its support to the tune of $5 Million

Chairman of the Jamaica International Invitational Meet (JIIM) Organising Committee, Dr Warren Blake (right) and Vice Chairman, Ludlow Watts (second right) are thrilled to accept a $6 million sponsorship contribution from Camille Taylor, (second left) the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica’s (PCJ) Manager, Information & Corporate Affairs; while Meet Director, Mr. Donald Quarrie carefully inspects the sponsorship cheque.  The PCJ and its subsidiaries PETCOM and Wigton Windfarm Limited responded to an appeal from the organisers for support to stage the prestigious meet which is scheduled for May 3 at the National Stadium.  The contribution was handed over today at the PCJ’s office in New Kingston.

Walter Dix Confirmed


Walter Dix is an Olympic Games Double bronze medallist and a World Championships double silver medallist in the 100m and 200m from Beijing 2008 and Daegu 2011 respectively. He has yet to run in Kingston and Kingston is waiting. Dix is known for his high cyclic rate turn-overs, which will surely be an asset at this year Jamaica International Invitational. ... Justin Gatlin Confirmed


Justin Gatlin has been confirmed for the 2014 Jamaica International Invitational Meet. Gatlin, whose list of accomplishments include World and Olympic Champion (indoor and outdoor), boasts a personal best of 9.79s in the 100m and 19.86s in the 200m. Curtis Mitchell, the 200m Bronze Medallist from Moscow, seeks to make his Jamaica International Invitational debut in 2014. Mitchell has a personal best time of 19.97 seconds achieved in 2013 in Moscow, which he seeks to lower in 2014. Kingston awaits. Read More »
